PROJECTS | INSTITUTIONAL
MO-OF has been involved in working closely with diverse clientele in the educational sector. They range from central government organisation: the Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) for projects such as MGAHV (Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi VishwaVidyalaya-Wardha), SPA-V (School of Planning and Architecture-Vijayawada). State owned renowned institutions such as V.J.T.I. ( Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute) and privately run global institutes such as B.I.S. (Bombay International School). This diversity has facilitated a healthy mix of typologies within the education systems and the opportunities of spatial reimaginations each of these offer.
In the educational sector our design intent has been to question and challenge the hermetic rigidity of organisational structures that disrupt the conventional learning methods or limit spatial imaginations. Our design approach focuses on bringing agility and flexibility to spatial configurations. It not only responds to creating multiple permutations of spatial organizations alternating between group and individual learning needs, but also creates new interstitial spaces for alternative possibilities of use and contributes towards shifting roles of formal and informal learning environments.
Educational sector is also where the firm has maximum award winning built projects. Winning competitions has played a significant role in allowing us to experiment with new formats and create successful paradigm shifts. Carefully interweaving varied programs that facilitate active social, cultural and environmental integration of the non-programmed, makes our design inclusive and adaptive for all its users. Achieving efficiency through optimization while prioritising quantitative delivery of design has been another unique factor of our design development process and approach.
